X filed a lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, accusing it of violating antitrust laws. The lawsuit claims that the coalition, known as GARM, conspired with leading brands to withhold advertising revenue from X after Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media company in 2022. X’s CEO stated that this behavior cost the company billions of dollars and undermined the marketplace of ideas. The House Judiciary Committee has expanded its probe into GARM’s activities. Letters were sent to more than 40 member companies requesting information on their relationship with the group.
